This is an oil which I am always intrigued with. While I follow a lot of other oily mamas, I often see this oil come up on their go-to’s and when researching it – I’m amazed at it’s properties! Let’s break it down.
The arborvitae or western red cedar has been often referred to as the Tree of Life. It has been used for years for cough, fevers, intestinal parasites, cystitis and venereal diseases. Arborvitae is known to be an antibacterial, anti fungal, antiseptic oil. This oil often helps for hair loss, skin nourishing, rheumatism, warts, and psoriasis! Not only does this oil help you with topical issues as mentioned, but it’s a great for emotional balance and the respiratory system!
A bit of history – Arborvitae is native to Canada, and all parts of the arborvitae tree were often used extensively by Native Americans for health benefits and for building vessels, totem poles, baskets, and clothing because it has properties in it that preserves natural products such as wood!
Are you a blender? This oil works great with birch, cedar wood, cassia & eucalyptus! All great oils that also help with the issues mentioned above!
Pregnant mama? Be a bit careful when using this oil as it’s also known to be a stimulant with the uterus!
